Vertiv Liebert GXT5LI-1000IRT2UXL

Vertiv Liebert GXT5LI-1000IRT2UXL

The Vertiv Liebert GXT5 Lithium-Ion 1kVA is an online double-conversion rack or tower UPS with a LiFePO4 lithium battery, delivering 1000 W at unity (1.0) power factor with zero transfer time, protecting critical loads across Australia. Its lithium battery lasts up to three times longer than lead-acid, recharges in under two hours and carries a 5-year warranty on the UPS and the battery. Supplied, installed and maintained by Indigi Power and Cooling, an Indigenous and Veteran-owned specialist.

The Vertiv Liebert GXT5 Lithium-Ion is an intelligent, efficient online double-conversion UPS built for network closets, small server rooms and edge IT cabinets. The 1kVA model pairs a compact rack-tower chassis with a LiFePO4 lithium battery, giving you clean, continuous power, longer battery life and a lower total cost of ownership than a comparable lead-acid UPS. It is part of the GXT5 Lithium-Ion 1kVA to 10kVA family, all sharing the same lithium platform, communications and 5-year warranty.

Lithium-ion is a step change for UPS batteries. Compared with valve-regulated lead-acid, it offers greater power density, up to three times the useful life, up to ten times more discharge cycles and far quicker recharge, in a smaller and lighter package. For network closets, small server rooms and edge IT cabinets, that means fewer battery replacements, fewer site visits and a set-and-forget solution. The GXT5 Lithium also tolerates warmer environments than lead-acid, so it holds up better in rooms that run hot, and its cells hold charge well in storage before commissioning.

Why the GXT5 Lithium 1kVA leads

Lithium (LiFePO4) battery

Up to three times the useful life of lead-acid and up to ten times more discharge cycles, so you replace batteries far less often.

5-year warranty

A full 5-year standard warranty on both the UPS and the battery, well beyond the typical lead-acid coverage.

1000 W at unity PF

Delivers the full 1000 W of real power, online double conversion with zero transfer time to battery.

Lower total cost of ownership

Fewer battery replacements and less maintenance deliver up to 50% TCO savings versus VRLA over the UPS life.

Fast recharge

The lithium battery recharges to 90% in under two hours, so runtime is restored quickly after an outage.

Rack or tower

A 2U rack or tower chassis that installs either way, with lighter weight and higher power density than lead-acid equivalents.

True online double-conversion protection

The GXT5 Lithium 1kVA is an online double-conversion UPS, which means incoming mains is rectified to DC and rebuilt into a clean, pure sine wave by the inverter, and your load always runs from that inverter. There is no transfer time when the mains fails, and mains-borne problems such as sags, spikes, frequency drift and harmonics never reach your equipment. For network closets, small server rooms and edge IT cabinets, that is the difference between conditioned, uninterrupted power and a UPS that only reacts once a problem has already passed through.

Lower total cost of ownership

Because the LiFePO4 battery lasts far longer and endures many more cycles than lead-acid, the 1kVA needs fewer battery replacements over its life, which Vertiv estimates at up to 50% lower total cost of ownership. You save on the batteries themselves and on the time and labour to swap them, which is especially valuable at remote or lightly-staffed sites. Around 99% of the battery elements are recyclable, and lithium units run cooler and quieter, which reduces the cooling burden in the room.

Battery runtime

The lithium battery gives the 1kVA strong ride-through for its size, and runtime can be extended with hot-swappable external battery cabinets (VEBCLI-48VRT1U). The figures below are the rated internal-battery autonomy. For a runtime matched to your exact load and any added cabinets, use our UPS runtime and battery calculator.

Table: Vertiv Liebert GXT5 Lithium 1kVA rated runtime (internal battery)
Load Approximate runtime
Full load (1000 VA) about 12 min
Half load about 26.5 min

Connections and load control

The 1kVA connects through an IEC C14 inlet and feeds 8 x IEC C13 (two groups of three programmable). The programmable outlet groups let you shed non-critical loads first during a long outage, and a MicroPOD maintenance bypass is available for GXT5 models 3 kVA and below so the UPS can be removed for service without powering down connected equipment.

Sizing the GXT5 Lithium 1kVA for your site

For a single-phase load up to 1000 W, the 1kVA is a strong choice for a rack or a floor-standing position. Size to your measured load in watts, allow headroom for growth, and add external battery cabinets for the runtime your shutdown or generator handover needs. Because the lithium battery holds capacity longer, the same unit stays fit for purpose for more years than a lead-acid equivalent.

Communications and monitoring

The 1kVA ships with a USB management port and free Vertiv Power Assist and Power Insight software for local and network monitoring and graceful shutdown. An IntelliSlot bay accepts an RDU101 or RDU120 network card for Ethernet, web, SNMP and environmental sensor support, so your team can see UPS status, load and battery health remotely and integrate the UPS into building and IT management systems.

Frequently asked questions

What battery does the GXT5 Lithium 1kVA use?

It uses a Lithium-Ion (LiFePO4) battery, which lasts up to three times longer than lead-acid, handles up to ten times more discharge cycles, and recharges to 90% in under two hours.

Is the GXT5 Lithium 1kVA a true online UPS?

Yes. It is an online double-conversion UPS with zero transfer time and a pure sine wave output, so your equipment always runs on clean, conditioned power, not just battery backup during an outage.

What warranty does it come with?

A 5-year standard warranty covering both the UPS and the lithium battery, which is well beyond the 2 to 3 years typical of lead-acid UPS batteries.

How much power does the 1kVA deliver?

It delivers 1000 W at unity (1.0) power factor. Real power equals the VA rating, so the full capacity is usable watts.

Can I extend the runtime?

Yes. Runtime extends with hot-swappable external battery cabinets (VEBCLI-48VRT1U), and up to eight cabinets can be added per UPS for long-duration backup.

Does Indigi supply and service the GXT5 Lithium across Australia?

Yes. Indigi supplies, installs and maintains the GXT5 Lithium range from hubs in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, with national coverage and genuine Vertiv parts.
