The Evikon E2218 is an industrial-grade humidity and temperature transmitter designed for accurate, continuous measurement of relative humidity, absolute humidity, temperature, and dew point in air and non-aggressive gas environments. Part of the Evikon PluraSens family, it features two freely configurable analog outputs, RS485 Modbus RTU digital interface, and IP65 protection, making it suitable for direct integration with BMS, SCADA, and building automation systems in data centres, precision cooling environments, and commercial HVAC plant rooms.

Why Humidity and Temperature Monitoring Matters in Data Centres

ASHRAE recommends maintaining server room intake temperature between 18 and 27 degrees C, with relative humidity between 20 and 80% for most IT equipment classes. Humidity that falls too low creates electrostatic discharge risk. Humidity that rises too high risks condensation on equipment and corrosion over time. Temperature excursions directly degrade UPS battery performance, reduce CRAC cooling efficiency, and shorten the service life of IT equipment.

The E2218 provides continuous, accurate measurement with resolution down to 0.01% RH and 0.01 degrees C, giving facilities management teams the real-time visibility needed to maintain conditions within specification. With RS485 Modbus RTU and analog 4-20 mA or 0-10 V outputs, it integrates directly with any modern BMS platform for logging, alarming, and automated HVAC response.
