Evikon E2638-HFC Refrigerant Detector

HFC and HFO Refrigerant Leak Detection for Data Centres, CRAC Cooling Systems and Refrigeration Plants

The Evikon E2638-HFC is a fixed refrigerant detector-transmitter designed for continuous monitoring of HFC and HFO refrigerant leaks in commercial and industrial environments. Part of the Evikon PluraSens family, it uses a stable long-life metal-oxide semiconductor sensor sensitive to a wide range of refrigerant compounds, with detection resolution down to 1 ppm and ranges to 2,500 ppm.

In data centres and server rooms, CRAC precision cooling units operate on refrigerant-based circuits. A refrigerant leak in an enclosed space can displace oxygen and create hypoxic conditions for personnel without any visible warning. The E2638-HFC provides continuous monitoring with configurable alarm thresholds, relay outputs for ventilation or alarm control, and RS485 Modbus RTU integration with BMS and fire safety systems.

Supplied by Indigi Power & Cooling across Australia.

Applications

  • Data centres and server rooms (CRAC and CRAH refrigerant circuit monitoring)

  • Precision cooling plant rooms

  • Cold storage warehouses and refrigeration plants

  • Skating arenas and large-scale refrigeration facilities

  • Hotels and commercial HVAC plant rooms

  • Any enclosed environment with refrigerant-based cooling equipment

Refrigerants Detected

The E2638-HFC sensor is sensitive to a wide range of HFC and HFO compounds including:

R-32, R-134a, R-404a, R-407c, R-410a, R-449a, R-454a, R-454b, R-454c, R-507, R-513a, R-514a, R-1234ze, and other halocarbon gases.

For applications requiring detection of a specific refrigerant to precise ppm accuracy, an optical NDIR sensor variant is available on request.
