The Eaton 9PX G2 is the latest generation of the 9PX, available with LiFePO4 lithium-ion batteries that replace standard VRLA lead-acid. Eaton's Advanced Battery Management (ABM) is a key differentiator across the 5PX, 9SX and 9PX ranges. Standard UPS systems use constant-voltage float charging, which keeps batteries continuously under charge voltage stress and accelerates degradation. ABM uses a three-stage charging cycle: charge, rest and qualify.
The rest phase reduces the time the battery spends under charge voltage stress, extending VRLA service life by up to 50% compared to conventional charging. In practical terms, Eaton battery replacement intervals are typically 4 to 5 years rather than the 3 to 4 years common with competitor products. Over a 10-year installation this difference eliminates at least one full battery replacement cycle, reducing total maintenance cost substantially.

What is the difference between line-interactive and double-conversion UPS?
A line-interactive UPS (5PX) has a 2 to 6ms transfer time to battery on mains loss and corrects minor voltage variations with an AVR. A double-conversion online UPS (9SX, 9PX, 9155) regenerates the output continuously from the inverter with zero transfer time, providing complete isolation from all power quality events. Double-conversion is required for servers, medical equipment and any load that cannot tolerate a momentary interruption.
Does the Eaton 9PX come with a lithium-ion battery?

Why does my Eaton UPS keep beeping?
Common causes: the UPS is running on battery (mains lost or degraded), a battery end-of-life warning, an overload, a battery self-test, or a network card fault.
