SMT Series: Smart-UPS with SmartConnect
The SMT is the core Smart-UPS line-interactive series, designed for servers, storage, and network equipment in small to medium business and enterprise environments. Available from 750VA to 3000VA in both tower and rack-mount configurations.
The SMT series includes APC's SmartConnect cloud monitoring portal on current models, providing real-time UPS status, battery health alerts, and firmware updates via an Ethernet connection and the free SmartConnect app. This makes fleet monitoring of multiple UPS units across a site or multiple sites straightforward without a dedicated network management card.

SMX Series: Smart-UPS X with Extended Runtime
The SMX builds on the SMT platform with the addition of external battery pack compatibility, allowing runtime to be extended from minutes to hours by connecting additional SUM or SMX battery packs. All SMX units are rack/tower convertible, making them a flexible choice for environments that may migrate from tower to rack as infrastructure grows.
The SMX also offers a higher output power factor than the SMT at equivalent VA ratings, delivering more usable watts from the same nominal capacity.

SRT Series: Smart-UPS On-Line (Double Conversion)
The SRT is the double-conversion online version of the Smart-UPS, providing zero transfer time during power events and continuous power conditioning regardless of input power quality. Where the SMT and SMX use line-interactive topology (switching to battery during outages with a brief transfer time of typically 2 to 4 milliseconds), the SRT operates in continuous double-conversion mode, completely isolating connected equipment from the incoming supply at all times.
