Collection: Eaton Industrial UPS Systems Australia | Indigi Power & Cooling
Eaton Industrial UPS Systems Australia (30-200kW)
When a commercial UPS is not enough, Eaton's industrial UPS range is engineered for the harshest electrical and physical environments on earth. From underground mining and offshore oil and gas platforms to manufacturing plants, utilities, and remote telecommunications infrastructure, Eaton industrial UPS systems deliver the robustness, efficiency, and flexibility that mission-critical industrial operations demand.
Indigi Power & Cooling supplies, installs, commissions, and maintains Eaton industrial UPS systems across Australia and the Pacific. Download the Eaton 9PHD Industrial UPS Brochure for full technical specifications.
The Eaton 9PHD Industrial UPS
The Eaton 9PHD is the flagship industrial UPS for demanding Australian environments. It brings the benefits of modern, transformer-free IGBT technology and modular architecture to the industrial domain, providing the lowest total cost of ownership in its power class.
Available from 30kW to 200kW in the following configurations:
| Configuration | Power Range | Modules | Voltages Available |
|---|---|---|---|
| 9PHD 100kW | 30-100kW | 1-2 modules | 208V, 230V, 380V, 400V, 415V, 440V, 480V, 690V |
| 9PHD 200kW | 80-200kW | 2-4 modules | 380V, 400V, 415V, 440V, 480V (208V, 230V, 690V up to 100kW) |
Why Eaton Industrial UPS Outperforms Standard Commercial Systems
Efficiency That Cuts Operational Costs
The 9PHD delivers up to 97% efficiency in double-conversion mode and up to 99% in Energy Saver System (ESS) mode - reducing operational energy costs by 75-85% compared to older technology. Variable Module Management System (VMMS) optimises efficiency at partial load conditions, saving a further 15-25% in operational expenses. In Australian industrial environments where systems run continuously, this efficiency difference represents substantial savings over a 10-year asset life.
Hot Sync Parallel Technology
Patented Eaton Hot Sync allows up to 8 units to operate in parallel for capacity or N+1 redundancy - without communication cables or load-share signals between units. This eliminates the parallel communication link as a single point of failure, which is the most common cause of failure in competing parallel UPS architectures. Hot Sync works in parallel with VMMS and ESS for optimal efficiency at all times.
Industrial-Grade Physical Protection
-
IP23, IP33, and IP54 enclosure ratings for dust, water, and ingress protection
-
1.5mm thick zinc-coated steel plating, powder coated to RAL7035 as standard
-
Conformal coated PCBs for humidity, chemical, and dust resistance
-
Seismic kit available - tested to NEBS GR-63-CORE Zone 4 (1g / 8.3 Richter Magnitude)
-
Vibration dampers as standard for generator and heavy machinery environments
-
Lifting lugs standard for installation in difficult access locations
Flexible Voltage and Frequency Range
Standard input and output voltages of 380V, 400V, 415V, 440V, and 480V. With optional internal transformers, the 9PHD configures to any voltage from 208V to 690V - covering every industrial electrical standard in Australia including 690V systems used in mining and heavy process plant. Input frequency range of 40-72Hz accommodates variable-frequency generator power with configurable soft start.
Battery Technology Choice
Unlike commercial UPS systems locked to a single battery chemistry, the 9PHD supports four technologies to match the specific operational needs of each site:
-
VRLA - standard applications with controlled ambient conditions
-
Lithium-Ion - extended service life, faster recharge, reduced weight and footprint
-
NiCad - high-temperature environments, extreme temperature range, very high cycle performance
-
Eaton XLM Supercapacitors - maintenance-free, high cycle count, fast recharge applications
All battery technologies use Eaton ABM (Advanced Battery Management) for intelligent charging, temperature compensation, and early end-of-life detection.
Applications Across Australian Industry
Eaton industrial UPS systems are deployed across the full range of critical industrial infrastructure:
-
Mining and resources - process control, safety systems, SCADA, communications
-
Oil and gas - offshore platforms, onshore processing, pipeline and compressor control
-
Manufacturing and process industry - production lines, DCS, automation
-
Utilities - water treatment, power generation, transmission and distribution control
-
Telecommunications - remote tower sites, exchanges, regional infrastructure
-
Defence and government - remote facilities, secure environments
-
Marine and offshore - vessel automation, navigation, engine room systems
Communications and Remote Monitoring
The 9PHD is equipped with four MiniSlots accepting optional Web/SNMP, ModBus/JBus, and Industrial Relay cards. Standard connectivity includes Device USB, Host USB, RS-232 service port, 5 building alarm inputs, 1 relay output, and a dedicated Emergency Power Off (EPO) interface. The optional Gigabit Network Card carries UL 2900-2-2 cybersecurity certification - important for industrial control environments with strict network security requirements.
