Industrial Electrical MaintenanceBrisbane, Ipswich and the Gold Coast
Manufacturing / Logistics / Processing / Resources
On an industrial site the electrical system is not a service. It is the production line, and it stops when the plant stops.

Industrial electrical maintenance is the planned inspection, testing and servicing of the electrical infrastructure that runs plant and process equipment, including motor control centres, variable speed drives, three phase distribution and the control systems around them.
Indigi Power and Cooling delivers industrial electrical maintenance across Brisbane, Ipswich, the Gold Coast and the Western Corridor, scheduled around production rather than against it. Part of our combined electrical and HVAC maintenance offer. Call 1800 046 344.
What is different
Industrial is not commercialwith bigger cables
The equipment is different and so is the consequence of getting it wrong. A commercial building loses comfort and convenience when a board fails. An industrial site loses production, and on a process line it can lose a batch as well.
The work reflects that. Motor control centres need contactor and overload inspection, thermal scanning under genuine load, and verification that protection settings still match the motors they are protecting, which is often not true after a decade of equipment changes. Variable speed drives need filter and fan cleaning, DC bus capacitor condition checks, cooling path inspection and parameter backup, because an unbacked drive that fails takes its configuration with it.
Three phase distribution needs phase balance checking, because unbalanced loading quietly wastes energy and overheats neutrals, and it almost never shows up until something cooks.
Scheduling
Working aroundproduction
The hardest part of industrial maintenance is rarely the technical work. It is getting access to the equipment without stopping the site.
We plan the program around your production calendar. Live work and thermal scanning happen while the plant runs, because scanning a de-energised board tells you nothing. Work that genuinely requires isolation gets grouped into as few shutdown windows as possible and scheduled months ahead, so a single planned outage covers everything rather than three separate ones.
Where the site runs continuously we work shutdowns, changeovers and public holidays. That is normal for us. Our critical power background is maintaining uninterruptible power supplies and data centre cooling in facilities that never switch off, so planning around an operation that cannot stop is the usual case rather than a special request.
Typical scope
What we maintainon an industrial site
Motor control centres and starter panels, including contactors, overloads, protection settings and busbar condition. Variable speed drives and soft starters. Three phase distribution boards, submains and busways. Plant and machinery power connections, isolators and emergency stops.
Control circuits, relays, timers and the interface between electrical and process control. Lighting across production floors, warehouses and yards, which is usually neglected and usually the first thing operators complain about. Site power outlets, welding outlets and portable equipment.
Where the site has critical power or process cooling, the same visit can cover uninterruptible power supplies, generators and switchroom cooling rather than bringing a second contractor through the gate. That is the main reason industrial clients consolidate with us.
Coverage
Where we workSouth East Queensland
Industrial electrical maintenance is delivered across South East Queensland, with the Western Corridor and Yatala industrial belts on regular runs.
Brisbane and inner suburbs
Brisbane CBD, Fortitude Valley, Newstead, Woolloongabba, Milton, Tingalpa, Murarrie, Eagle Farm, Northgate, Port of Brisbane
Our Tingalpa workshop sits inside the Australia TradeCoast corridor, so most of the eastern and southern industrial belt is a short run.
Ipswich and the Western Corridor
Ipswich CBD, Booval, Bundamba, Redbank, Goodna, Springfield, Swanbank, Amberley, Rosewood, Willowbank
Manufacturing, logistics and defence support. Growing fast and thinly served by specialist maintenance contractors.
Gold Coast and Yatala
Southport, Bundall, Robina, Varsity Lakes, Burleigh, Nerang, Molendinar, Yatala, Ormeau, Coomera
Salt air and humidity shorten service intervals on coastal plant, particularly condenser coils and outdoor switchgear.
Logan, Redlands and Bayside
Logan Central, Meadowbrook, Crestmead, Slacks Creek, Berrinba, Capalaba, Cleveland, Wynnum, Manly
Warehousing, cold storage and aged care. Sits between our Brisbane and Gold Coast runs, which keeps scheduled visits efficient.
Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast
North Lakes, Brendale, Strathpine, Caboolture, Narangba, Caloundra, Maroochydore, Kawana, Noosa
Run on a scheduled route rather than ad hoc, which keeps travel out of the price. Best suited to quarterly or six monthly cycles.
Toowoomba and the Darling Downs
Toowoomba CBD, Wilsonton, Torrington, Charlton, Oakey, Dalby, Warwick, Gatton
Agricultural processing, transport depots and regional health. Combining trades on one visit is what makes the travel work.
Questions
Industrial electrical maintenancefrequently asked
What does an industrial electrician do?
An industrial electrician installs, maintains and repairs the electrical systems that run plant and process equipment, rather than the lighting and power of a typical building. That includes motor control centres, variable speed drives, three phase distribution, machinery connections, isolators and emergency stops, control circuits, and the protection settings that keep motors and cables safe. The work is usually planned around production, because taking plant offline has a direct cost.
How often should industrial electrical equipment be maintained?
Most industrial sites run an annual full inspection with quarterly or six monthly thermal imaging on heavily loaded switchboards and motor control centres. High duty cycle plant, dusty or corrosive environments and anything feeding a continuous process usually justifies the shorter interval. The driver is consequence of failure rather than the age of the equipment.
Can you do the work without shutting down production?
Most of it, yes. Inspection, thermal imaging under load, drive servicing and lighting work are all done while the site runs, and thermal scanning has to be done under load to mean anything. Work that genuinely needs isolation is grouped into as few planned windows as possible and scheduled well ahead, including shutdowns, changeovers and public holidays.
Do you service variable speed drives?
Yes. Drive servicing covers filter and cooling fan cleaning, heatsink and airflow path inspection, DC bus capacitor condition, terminal torque checks, fault log review and parameter backup. The parameter backup matters more than people expect, because a failed drive without a saved configuration turns a parts swap into a commissioning exercise.
Do you work on mine sites and remote industrial facilities?
We service industrial facilities across South East Queensland for scheduled electrical and HVAC maintenance. For remote and resources sites our national critical power and cooling work extends further, including uninterruptible power supplies and switchroom cooling. Tell us the location and we will say plainly what we cover directly and what we coordinate.
Can one contractor cover electrical and mechanical on an industrial site?
Yes, if they hold both an electrical contractor licence and ARC refrigerant handling authorisation and self perform both. We do. On an industrial site that matters because switchroom cooling, process cooling and the electrical plant they protect are the same problem, and splitting them between two contractors is how faults on the boundary get missed.
