Online Double-Conversion Power Protection
The 9SX Marine uses online double-conversion topology with Power Factor Correction (PFC), continuously monitoring and regulating voltage and frequency. Connected equipment is completely isolated from all input power anomalies. Zero transfer time to battery ensures seamless protection during generator switching, frequency variations, and mains disturbances common in marine power systems.

With a 0.9 output power factor, the 9SX Marine delivers up to 28% more usable watts than equivalent VA-rated UPS systems with lower power factors - protecting more critical equipment per unit and eliminating the need to oversize.
Eaton ABM Battery Management
Advanced Battery Management (ABM) uses an intelligent three-stage charging technique that extends battery service life by up to 50% compared to conventional float charging. The 9SX Marine also provides a recommended battery replacement date based on continuous battery condition monitoring - removing guesswork from maintenance scheduling on board vessels where service resources are limited.
Hot-Swappable Internal Batteries and EBMs
Internal batteries are hot-swappable - replacement without powering down critical systems. Up to four external battery modules (EBMs) can be added for extended runtime, automatically recognised by the UPS without configuration. Runtime can be extended from minutes to hours depending on the number of EBMs fitted.
Marine Mode and Frequency Converter Operation
Configurable for Marine Mode (output frequency follows input frequency), frequency converter operation from 50Hz to 60Hz, and 60Hz to 50Hz - supporting vessels operating in different international waters and power environments.
Graphical LCD Display
7-language graphical LCD with adjustable display angle for optimal visibility in both tower and rack orientations. Provides UPS status, measurements, alarm history, energy consumption, load segment control, and battery runtime at a glance. LCD position adjustable for tower and shelf installations.
Load Segment Control
Two independently controllable outlet groups enable priority-based shutdown of non-essential equipment to maximise battery runtime for the most critical devices during an extended outage.
Energy Metering
The 9SX Marine can meter energy consumption in kWh - monitored via the LCD or Eaton Intelligent Power Manager software for vessel energy management.
Intelligent Power Software Integration
Compatible with Eaton Intelligent Power Manager (IPM) and Intelligent Power Protector, integrating with virtualisation environments and supporting automated graceful shutdown of servers and computers during extended battery operation.
Internal Automatic Static Bypass
