Vertiv Liebert GXT5-3000IRT2UXL 3000VA Online Double Conversion UPS Australia

Vertiv Liebert GXT5-3000IRT2UXL 3000VA Online Double Conversion UPS Australia

Vertiv Liebert GXT5  /  Single Phase Online UPS  /  3000VA

The Vertiv Liebert GXT5-3000IRT2UXL is a 3000VA / 3000W single phase, online double conversion rack or tower UPS with unity power factor and efficiency up to 94%, supplied, installed and maintained across Australia by Indigi Power and Cooling. It delivers continuous, fully conditioned power to servers, network racks and edge sites, and ships with a Vertiv RDU120 network card and a 3-year warranty. Indigi Power and Cooling is an Indigenous and Veteran-owned critical power specialist, Supply Nation and ICN Gateway registered.

The Vertiv Liebert GXT5-3000IRT2UXL is the flagship of the 2U Liebert GXT5 online double conversion family, sized at 3000VA and, thanks to a unity output power factor of 1.0, a full 3000 watts of usable output. Online double conversion (VFI classification) means the connected load is always powered from a regenerated sine wave, fully isolated from the raw mains, so voltage sags, surges, frequency drift, harmonics and brownouts never reach your equipment. For server rooms, comms rooms and edge network cabinets that cannot tolerate a break in clean power, this is the topology that matters.

In a compact 2U chassis that installs equally well as a rack unit or a free-standing tower, the GXT5-3000IRT2UXL packs a color graphic LCD with gravity-sensing orientation, individually programmable output sockets, hot-swappable batteries and a Vertiv Liebert IntelliSlot RDU120 network card in the box. It runs at high efficiency in online mode and up to 98% in ECO mode, and Indigi Power and Cooling supplies it Australia-wide with optional installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance from our Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne hubs.

Why the GXT5-3000IRT2UXL leads its class

Unity power factor (1.0)

3000VA equals a full 3000W of real power. You can load it with more IT equipment than a 0.9 power factor UPS of the same VA rating, saving rack space and cost.

True online protection

Double conversion (VFI) isolates the load from all nine common power problems with zero transfer time, delivering a pure sine wave regardless of what the mains is doing.

Efficiency up to 94% / 98% ECO

High efficiency in online double conversion mode and up to 98% in ECO mode lowers running cost and heat load in the rack, and it is Energy Star certified.

Intelligent battery management

Battery health status and replacement-date prediction, temperature-compensated charging and hot-swappable modules extend service life and cut unplanned downtime.

Network card included

A Vertiv Liebert IntelliSlot RDU120 card ships in the box for SNMP, web and Power Insight remote monitoring, with no extra accessory to buy.

Scalable runtime

Add a GXT5-EBC72VRT2U external battery cabinet to extend backup from 3.3 minutes to over 19 minutes at full load, with auto-detection for accurate runtime reporting.

Applications for the GXT5-3000IRT2UXL

At 3000VA the GXT5-3000IRT2UXL is the workhorse of the 2U range, matched to fully loaded critical racks that demand true online protection: multiple servers, a populated network switch stack, storage arrays and NAS, a comms cabinet, a POS or building controller, medical and diagnostic equipment, or a busy edge computing node. The added C19 outlet supports higher-current devices such as blade enclosures and dense server power supplies. Because it is online double conversion rather than line-interactive, it suits sites with unstable or generator-backed power where frequency and voltage wander.

  • Edge computing and micro data centre nodes in retail, industrial and remote sites
  • Network and comms racks, switches, routers and firewalls
  • Multi-server rooms, storage arrays and backup appliances for growing business
  • Healthcare, imaging and laboratory equipment requiring clean power
  • Security, CCTV, access control and building management head-ends

For larger loads, step up through the Vertiv single phase UPS range, and if you are protecting a full rack or room, pair the UPS with cooling through our server room cooling service. Not sure of your runtime target? Use the UPS runtime and battery sizing calculator.

GXT5-3000IRT2UXL vs a typical line-interactive UPS

The most common mistake at this capacity is choosing a line-interactive UPS to save money. The table below shows why the online double conversion GXT5 is the safer choice for critical loads.

Output waveform Pure sine wave, always regenerated Sine on battery, raw mains otherwise
Remote management RDU120 network card included Network card often extra
Runtime expansion External battery cabinets with auto-detect Limited or none

Installation and maintenance across Australia

The GXT5-3000IRT2UXL connects to a standard IEC C20 inlet on a dedicated circuit, but any hardwired distribution, rack integration or building supply work should be carried out by a licensed electrician. Indigi Power and Cooling provides single phase UPS installation and commissioning nationally, including rack mounting, battery cabinet connection, load transfer and configuration of the network card and shutdown software.

To protect your investment and keep the warranty valid, batteries and electronics should be inspected on a regular schedule. Our UPS maintenance service covers testing, battery health checks and firmware updates, and annual maintenance plans keep your GXT5 fleet compliant and reliable. Internal batteries are user-replaceable using the GXT5-72VBATKIT, and the GXT5-EBC72VRT2U external cabinet extends runtime when you need it.

Australian sites bring their own power quality challenges, from long feeder runs and voltage sag in regional areas to generator changeover on backed-up sites, and these are exactly the conditions online double conversion is built to ride through. All fixed electrical connection work must comply with AS/NZS 3000 wiring rules and be performed by a licensed electrician, and Indigi Power and Cooling handles that side of the deployment for you so the GXT5 is installed, labelled and commissioned correctly the first time.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Vertiv GXT5-3000IRT2UXL single phase?

Yes. The GXT5-3000IRT2UXL is a single phase 230V UPS with a single phase input and single phase output, which is why it belongs in the Vertiv single phase (1:1) range.

How much backup runtime does it provide?

On its internal batteries it delivers about 3.3 minutes at full 3000W load and 10.8 minutes at 50% load. Adding one GXT5-EBC72VRT2U external battery cabinet extends this to roughly 19 minutes at full load and over 47 minutes at half load.

What output sockets does it have?

The GXT5-3000IRT2UXL provides six IEC C13 outlets plus one higher-current IEC C19 outlet, all delivering a pure sine wave. The C19 socket suits blade enclosures, dense server power supplies and other equipment that draws more than a standard C13 can carry.

Can it be used as a rack or a tower?

Both. It is a 2U convertible chassis that racks into a standard 19-inch cabinet or stands vertically as a tower with the supplied stabilising feet, and the color LCD rotates automatically to suit.

What efficiency does the GXT5 achieve?

Up to 94% in online double conversion mode and up to 98% in ECO mode. It is Energy Star certified, which reduces both running cost and the heat it adds to the rack.

Does it include a network management card?

Yes. A Vertiv Liebert IntelliSlot RDU120 network card is supplied in the box for SNMP, web and Vertiv Power Insight remote monitoring, along with USB, RS232 and dry-contact connectivity.

What warranty comes with the GXT5-3000IRT2UXL?

It carries a 3-year Vertiv limited warranty for the Australia and New Zealand market. We supply, install, commission and maintain the GXT5 range nationwide from our Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne hubs, and regular maintenance and correct installation keep the warranty valid.
