Vertiv Liebert GXT5-20KIRT9UXLN 20kVA Online Double Conversion UPS Australia

Vertiv Liebert GXT5-20KIRT9UXLN 20kVA Online Double Conversion UPS Australia

Vertiv Liebert GXT5  /  Single Phase Online UPS  /  20kVA

The Vertiv Liebert GXT5-20KIRT9UXLN is a 20,000VA / 20,000W single phase, online double conversion rack or tower UPS with unity power factor and efficiency up to 95%, supplied, installed and maintained across Australia by Indigi Power and Cooling. It delivers continuous, fully conditioned power to high-density server racks, data halls and edge computing rooms through a hardwired terminal block, and ships with a Vertiv RDU120 network card and a 3-year warranty. Indigi Power and Cooling is an Indigenous and Veteran-owned critical power specialist, Supply Nation and ICN Gateway registered.

The Vertiv Liebert GXT5-20KIRT9UXLN is the flagship of the Liebert GXT5 online double conversion family, sized at 20,000VA and, thanks to a unity output power factor of 1.0, a full 20,000 watts of usable output. Online double conversion (VFI classification) means the connected load is always powered from a regenerated sine wave, fully isolated from the raw mains, so voltage sags, surges, frequency drift, harmonics and brownouts never reach your equipment. For data halls, high-density server rooms and mission-critical facilities that cannot tolerate a break in clean power, this is the topology that matters.

In a 9U chassis that installs as a rack unit or a free-standing tower, the GXT5-20KIRT9UXLN packs a color graphic LCD with gravity-sensing orientation, hardwired terminal-block input and output, hot-swappable batteries and a Vertiv Liebert IntelliSlot RDU120 network card in the box. It runs at up to 95% efficiency in online double conversion mode and up to 98% in ECO mode, and Indigi Power and Cooling supplies it Australia-wide with optional installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance from our Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne hubs.

Why the GXT5-20KIRT9UXLN leads its class

Unity power factor (1.0)

20,000VA equals a full 20,000W of real power. You can load it with more IT equipment than a 0.9 power factor UPS of the same VA rating, maximising the usable capacity per rack.

True online protection

Double conversion (VFI) isolates the load from all nine common power problems with zero transfer time, delivering a pure sine wave regardless of what the mains is doing.

Efficiency up to 95% / 98% ECO

Up to 95% efficiency in online double conversion mode and up to 98% in ECO mode lowers running cost and heat load in the room, and it is Energy Star certified.

Intelligent battery management

Battery health status and replacement-date prediction, temperature-compensated charging and hot-swappable modules extend service life and cut unplanned downtime.

Network card included

A Vertiv Liebert IntelliSlot RDU120 card ships in the box for SNMP, web and Power Insight remote monitoring, with no extra accessory to buy.

Scalable runtime

Add a GXT5-EBC384VRT6U external battery cabinet to extend backup from 2.5 minutes to around 7 minutes at full load, with auto-detection for accurate runtime reporting.

Applications for the GXT5-20KIRT9UXLN

At 20,000VA the GXT5-20KIRT9UXLN is built for large critical loads that demand true online protection: full server racks, high-density compute, storage arrays, core network and edge data centre rooms, and industrial control environments. Because it is online double conversion rather than line-interactive, it suits sites with unstable or generator-backed power where frequency and voltage wander, and its hardwired terminal-block connection is designed for permanent facility installation rather than plug-and-cord loads.

  • Data halls, edge data centres and high-density server rooms
  • Core network, storage and virtualisation clusters
  • Industrial control, SCADA and process automation environments
  • Healthcare, imaging and laboratory facilities requiring clean power at scale
  • Broadcast, telecom and building infrastructure requiring conditioned three-nines power

For smaller loads, step down through the Vertiv single phase UPS range, and because a 20kW load produces significant heat, pair the UPS with cooling through our server room cooling service. Not sure of your runtime target? Use the UPS runtime and battery sizing calculator.

Installation and maintenance across Australia

The GXT5-20KIRT9UXLN connects to a hardwired terminal block rather than a plug, so it must be installed on a dedicated circuit by a licensed electrician as part of the building distribution. Indigi Power and Cooling provides single phase UPS installation and commissioning nationally, including rack integration, terminal-block termination, external battery cabinet connection, load transfer and configuration of the network card and shutdown software.

To protect your investment and keep the warranty valid, batteries and electronics should be inspected on a regular schedule. Our UPS maintenance service covers testing, battery health checks and firmware updates, and annual maintenance plans keep your GXT5 fleet compliant and reliable. Internal batteries are serviced using the GXT5-384VBATKIT, and the GXT5-EBC384VRT6U external cabinet extends runtime when you need it.

Australian sites bring their own power quality challenges, from long feeder runs and voltage sag in regional areas to generator changeover on backed-up sites, and these are exactly the conditions online double conversion is built to ride through. All fixed electrical connection work must comply with AS/NZS 3000 wiring rules and be performed by a licensed electrician, and Indigi Power and Cooling handles that side of the deployment for you so the GXT5 is installed, labelled and commissioned correctly the first time.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Vertiv GXT5-20KIRT9UXLN single phase?

Yes. The GXT5-20KIRT9UXLN is a single phase 230V UPS with a single phase input and single phase output, which is why it belongs in the Vertiv single phase (1:1) range.

How much backup runtime does it provide?

On its internal batteries it delivers about 2.5 minutes at full 20,000W load and 7 minutes at 50% load. Adding one GXT5-EBC384VRT6U external battery cabinet extends this to roughly 7 minutes at full load and around 19.5 minutes at half load, and further cabinets scale runtime for longer holdover or generator start.

How is the GXT5-20KIRT9UXLN connected?

It uses a hardwired terminal block for both input and output at 288 VAC nominal, so it is permanently wired into the building distribution by a licensed electrician. Output can be distributed via PD2-series power distribution and optional IEC C13 and C19 modules.

What efficiency does the GXT5 achieve?

Up to 95% in online double conversion mode and up to 98% in ECO mode. It is Energy Star certified, which reduces both running cost and the heat it adds to the room.
